Angela James is the founder of Sydney Pelvic Clinic and is a pioneer in the treatment of patients with pelvic issues using a holistic and Integrated Approach. She has a unique skill set which allows her to treat both the internal and external pelvic structures. This allows her to treat the pelvic unit as a whole and thus achieve more successful outcomes. She has over 15 years’ experience in managing complex pelvic issues for both women and men.
These conditions include:
- Pelvic pain including pain or inability to engage in sexual intercourse including vaginismus, vulvodynia and Genito-Pelvic Pain Disorder (GPPD), pudendal neuralgia or Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD)
- Coccyx or tailbone pain, traumatic and non-traumatic
- Bladder and bowel dysfunction such as incontinence (urinary and faecal), urgency, frequency and pain
- Surgical rehabilitation from gynaecological and prostate surgery
- Prolapse management, including the use of pessaries
- Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) including sacroiliac joint (SIJ), pubic symphysis and pregnancy related pain
- Hip pain: including Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) and labral tears
Patients travel from across Australia and the world to consult with Angela, having often sought help for their pelvic issue elsewhere without a successful outcome. Angela has an outstanding record of success with her patients, who often present with very complex issues. Angela is passionate and committed to helping patients overcome pelvic issues and returning them to their optimal health, whether that is sexual function, continence or pain reduction. Angela uses an individual approach for each patient integrating manual therapy, education, mindfulness, and Physio Exercise or functional conditioning. Angela strongly believes in educating her patients so they maintain control and play an active part in their recovery. Angela completed her Clinical Masters research project with Curtin University examining The Effectiveness of Neuroscience Education for Patients with Chronic Pelvic Pain.
Angela is passionate about pelvic physiotherapy, and has developed a team of like-minded, highly trained professionals at Sydney Pelvic Clinic. Her number one goal is to achieve successful outcomes for her patients. Angela regularly runs courses for practitioners such as The Pregnant Pelvis – An Integrated Approach and The Role of the Pelvic Floor Muscles in Sexual Pain.
She’s an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Continence Women’s Health Group, Continence Foundation of Australia and she sits on the New South Wales APA Education Sub Advisory Committee. Angela is mum to two boys and understands firsthand the changes a woman’s pelvis undergoes during pregnancy, birth and post birth. In her spare time Angela enjoys sport, she’s played hockey at national level, completed 2 marathons and she is an accomplished rock climber.

Alison Hui APAM

Alison is dedicated to treating women and men with bladder, bowel, or sexual dysfunction, or pelvic pain. Alison completed her Physiotherapy degree and began the first few years of her career in Sydney at St George Hospital. She then spent almost 6 years in London working in pelvic, obstetric and gynaecological care in a number of large teaching hospitals, as well as in private practice.
Whilst in the UK, she completed a Master of Science with Distinction in Rehabilitation Studies (Continence for Physiotherapists). She has also completed a Professional Certificate in Conservative Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse through the University of South Australia, and is a committee member of the APA NSW Women’s, Men’s & Pelvic Health Group.
Alison’s warm and friendly nature will put you at ease when talking about your condition. She believes in looking at a patient holistically, and uses a combination of education, manual therapy (external and internal), real-time ultrasound and Exercise Rehabilitation/ Physio Exercise in her treatment approach. Karly Coltman APAM

Karly completed her Master of Physiotherapy at Curtin University, where she immediately developed a passion for pelvic health. Since graduating, Karly has gained specialised clinical skills in the field through her work at the National Women’s Hospital in Auckland, treating pelvic disorders. She has also worked in private practice across both Australia and New Zealand, treating both women’s / men’s pelvic health and general musculoskeletal conditions.
Karly is extremely passionate about her work and is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their goals. She likes to incorporate a holistic/integrated approach as she guides patients on their own healing journey. This means tackling all aspects of optimal health including stress management, nutrition, sleep, and of course exercise!

Sarah graduated from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with a BSc in Physiotherapy. Keen to broaden her horizons, Sarah moved to Singapore where she worked for 4 years in both hospital and private practice settings. It was here that her fascination with the pelvis began.
Wanting to further develop her skillset in pelvic health, Sarah moved to Sydney and is currently undertaking postgraduate training at the University of Melbourne. She has completed the post graduate certificate in pelvic floor function & dysfunction which has greatly enhanced her quality of treatment and helped broaden her scope of practice.
Sarah loves what she does and finds genuine pleasure in helping her patients achieve and exceed their goals and move to a point where they can self-manage their conditions, whatever they may be. Sarah ensures she has a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s physical and emotional needs before embarking on the road to recovery as she believes these factors go hand in hand.

Julia Tremonti APAM

While originally from Melbourne, due to her passion for rural and remote health care, Julia completed her Bachelor of physiotherapy in 2011 in Townsville, QLD. She has significant experience working in the public hospital system in both Darwin and South Western Sydney, across multiple areas including paediatrics and womens health, community aged care, intensive care, respiratory, oncology and in renal medicine. Julia has an extensive knowledge in aged care, falls prevention and dementia care. She enjoys collaborating with patients and their families to ensure the best patient outcomes are achieved in developing a treatment plan.
Julia is excited to run exercise classes for Sydney Pelvic Clinic, as she has always enjoyed running falls prevention and pulmonary rehabilitation classes for her patients in the acute and sub acute setting. She relishes the opportunity to provide a safe and supportive environment for her patients and build their confidence with their exercise programs.
In addition she loves being able to share information with patients, and empower them to understand their own health condition better. Since having her first baby in 2019 she understands the importance of providing the appropriate exercise and treatment plans for all women along the motherhood journey to not only look after their physical but also their mental health. In her down time, you’ll most likely find her walking with her american staffy and 1 year old baby boy strapped to her chest around the eastern suburbs of Sydney. She enjoys a great long black and a quick ocean plunge when she gets the opportunity.

Sally graduated as a Physiotherapist from the University of Sydney in 1998. Since graduating she has worked in both the public and private sectors where she has gained considerable experience in managing a variety of musculoskeletal, neurological and sporting injuries as well as numerous Womens’ and Men’s health conditions.
In 2007 Sally completed the Polestar Pilates Rehab series training and has since worked extensively with Pilates taking both classes and individual sessions with mat and equipment.
Whilst living in Melbourne she completed post graduate studies at University of Melbourne in Pelvic floor rehabilitation (where she met fellow student Ange in 2008!). During this time, she worked at a specialist pelvic floor clinic in Malvern.
Sally has a keen interest in exercise rehabilitation and education. She is passionate about treating the body as a whole, addressing any underlying dysfunctions, not just immediate symptoms. She has extensive experience taking exercise classes with all populations in all forms: Pilates, swiss ball specific, aquatic, including pre and post-natal and the elderly. She has a strong belief in combining management with education, helping to empower clients to manage their own bodies.
Sally is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). In her spare time she likes to get into wide, open spaces, travel and camp (domestically), play tennis, run (marathon in 2009, not since) and she would love to find a middle-aged women’s cricket team for a summer sport.

Tamara Bellas APAM

Tammy is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist who is committed to providing a holistic approach to all of her patients involving manual therapy techniques and exercise rehabilitation. Tammy endeavours to fully understand her patients’ problem/s and goals and is dedicated to assisting her patients on their pathway to restored function – whether that be in their home, work, sporting or recreational life.
Tammy’s passion for physiotherapy started as a young teen when receiving treatment for a lower back injury sustained during national level competitive swimming. Tammy completed her Masters degree at the University of Canberra in 2011 and gained experience in the public hospital setting before entering the musculoskeletal physiotherapy field in Brisbane. During Tammy’s six years in Brisbane she worked in private practice and within the Physiotherapy Department of a Defence On-Base Health Service. Here she gained a great understanding of the physical demands of those serving in our Defence Forces.
Tammy completed Pilates training through Studio Pilates and ran a successful Pilates home studio in Brisbane for four years using both mat-work and reformer-based exercises. Her studio’s approach included safe and effective private and group classes for the antenatal, postnatal and general community. Tammy is committed to ensuring that each client benefits from the exercises they are performing, and she has a close eye for technique correction to maximise this.
Tammy has experience treating and a special interest in:
1. Pain / dysfunction related to the spine: lower back, thoracic and neck
2. Lower limb tendinopathies: particularly Achilles and Gluteal tendinopathy
3. Exercise rehabilitation; particularly antenatal and postnatal
4. Acute and longstanding injuries/conditions of the shoulder, knee, and ankle.
Throughout the experience of becoming a mum Tammy has developed a keen interest in the field of Women’s Health and has commenced a training pathway to broaden her scope of practice within this area. Tammy is a member of the APA Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health National Group as well as the Women’s Health Training Associates.
Due to the nature of her husband’s career, Tammy has found herself in the beautiful Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. She loves exploring new places with her husband, two young children and German Shepherd, and enjoys keeping herself physically and mentally in-check with running, pilates and yoga.

Louise Gell

Louise grew up on a property in the Hunter Valley with a keen interest in the outdoors and a love for sport, particularly hockey. She moved to Sydney in 2008 for University, deciding to follow her love for sport by studying Business, majoring in Sports Management. Louise worked in the sports industry for a few years in jobs ranging from sports events to public relations.
After some time she realised her passion had shifted from business to exercise and health. She then made the decision to go back to University and study to be a Physiotherapist. Not surprisingly, her hobbies are based around the outdoors and sport.
She loves watching live Swans and Waratah’s games and spending a lot of time at the beach. Recently she has found a love for bush walking and every month Louise and her partner go on an adventure and find a hike to do in or close to Sydney.

Matthew Treasure

Matt is responsible for the overall operation of Sydney Pelvic Clinic. He came to Sydney Pelvic Clinic with over 10 years’ experience managing large call centres and help desks. From this background he brings a passion for implementing effective processes and maximising customer satisfaction.
Matt is committed to ensuring a high level patient experience and quality patient outcomes at Sydney Pelvic Clinic. Matt is also passionate about healthcare and getting people back to their best. He is a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist and has taught Anatomy & Physiology.
Matt loves getting outdoors with his wife & 2 sons – camping, hiking, rock climbing & mountain biking etc. He recently completed a Paddy Pallin adventure race at Cam’s Wharf and is looking forward to this year’s North Face 50.

Aimee Ryan
Operations Manager
Aimee is responsible for the front-line management, day-to-day operations and customer experience for AJ Physio and Sydney Pelvic Clinic. Before joining the AJP & SPC team, Aimee enjoyed a 20 year career in operations roles working for organisations such as Cathay Pacific Airways and APN Outdoor. Leadership and working with others is something that comes naturally to her.
Aimee is dedicated to creating a positive work environment that benefits both staff and our patients.
When she’s not working hard to optimise the day to day functions of our clinic, she can be found taking her dog Spencer for a walk or cooking up a storm for family and friends.

Raquel Skaf

Raquel has a passion for health and fitness. This passion stems from growing up in a close-knit family in the Inner West of Sydney who encouraged an active lifestyle from a young age.
She has 5 years’ experience in administration and customer service and loves working in an allied health workplace, an area she hopes to work in as an Occupational Therapist after university. Raquel is passionate about changing the lives of people who are injured or who have a disability, through empowering them with the skills and knowledge to overcome barriers and reach their highest potential.
Keep an eye out for her vibrant, nurturing, positive and cheerful character within the clinic. In her free-time Raquel enjoys cooking for her family, adventuring with her partner, training hard at the gym and travelling.

Tina Woolridge

Tina has always worked with people and for the last 9 years she has been in the healthcare industry as a massage therapist while also working in various reception roles. She loves people contact and helping others.Originally from England, she fell in love with Australia while on her travels. She is often found spending time at the beach, walking the coast, practising and studying yoga, camping and dining out with her family & friends.

Maria Chalhoub

Maria is currently completing her degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales. This stemmed from her passion to help people – overcome pain and injury, maintain good health and ultimately gain back their quality of life through exercise rehab.
From a young age, Maria has had strong and natural enthusiasm for health, wellbeing and fitness. She loves to keep an active lifestyle as well as encourage others to do so. She has had three years of experience working as a swimming instructor, promoting health, fitness, survival and safety skills as well as volunteering at the physiotherapy department at Blacktown Hospital.
Outside of work hours, Maria loves to start her day with a run and soaking up the sun. She has been doing martial arts from the age of five and loves this method of exercising (an all-rounder of physical, mental and spiritual health). She also enjoys going on spontaneous adventures with her partner. With having such a big family and culture, you’ll most likely find her every Sunday at a family BBQ.

Margarita Vlachos

With a Diploma in Beauty Therapy, 10 years in Child Care, Before & Aftercare and a further 11 years working in the Skin Care industry as both a Product Specialist and an Educator, Margarita brings a wealth of knowledge and customer centric expertise to her role within our reception team.
When she’s not busy putting smiles on our customers’ faces with her infectious personality, Margarita loves baking sweets, interior design and taking long walks along the water with her husband and dog Ziggy. With her Mediterranean background, she loves talking about great food, almost as much as she loves making it, and can often be found making the most of the longer summer days enjoying a swim.

Lucy is a dynamic, driven, and solution focused professional with 8 years’ business experience in Administration and Marketing specialising in the customer experience. Lucy has a passion for health and fitness & loves getting outdoors – ocean swimming, road cycling, running, hiking, camping & mountain biking etc.
Her biggest sporting achievement was competing in the Hawaiian Ironman World Championship Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii. The race is a based on the big island and includes a 3.8km swim leg, 180km bike section and a 42km run through the Lava Fields!
