Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the inability to gain and/or maintain an erection. ED can be a distressing condition and negatively impacts men’s quality of life.

Erectile function is a complex interaction between the muscles, nerves and blood supply of the genital region. Pelvic floor muscle (PFM) weakness has been shown to contribute to ED. There has been strong and compelling research demonstrating the effectiveness of PFM training to improve men’s erectile function, including premature ejaculation (Dorey et al 2005). Unlike medication, PFM training has no side effects on your body.

At Sydney Pelvic Clinic our specially trained physiotherapists will help identify the issues in your pelvic floor function and nerve supply which is affecting your ED, and then provide education, lifestyle advice and exercises to help achieve your best pelvic health and erectile function.
