Coccyx Pain

Coccyx pain (or coccydynia): is pain in the tailbone region and can be caused by trauma (a direct fall or prolonged periods of sitting) or it can also be caused by excessive muscle tension from the muscles that attach to the coccyx. Our physiotherapists are specialists in diagnosing and managing coccyx pain.

Coccyx pain causes much distress to the person suffering with it, as it can interrupt any activity that involves sitting. It is often not well understood in the wider medical community and can leave the person feeling very frustrated and concerned about finding a successful outcome.
