Excellence Down Under

This weekend, several members of the Sydney Pelvic Clinic team travelled to Melbourne to attend the Excellence Down Under Symposium, an event hosted by the University of Melbourne and organised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).

The symposium brought together pelvic health physiotherapists and leading researchers from across the country for a day dedicated to learning, connection and the exchange of knowledge. Sessions covered the latest evidence, research and clinical developments in pelvic health physiotherapy, offering valuable insight into where the field is heading and how best to apply emerging findings in everyday clinical practice.

For the Sydney Pelvic Clinic team, opportunities like these are invaluable. Staying connected with leaders in the field and continuing to learn from the latest research allows the team to bring fresh knowledge, evidence-based approaches and renewed inspiration back to their patients and the wider community.

Sydney Pelvic Clinic founder Dr Angela James, FACP played a dual role at this year’s symposium. Not only did she present at the event, sharing her expertise with fellow professionals, she also played a key role in coordinating and organising the symposium itself — helping bring together such a valuable day for the pelvic health physiotherapy community.

Events like the Excellence Down Under Symposium highlight the importance of ongoing professional development and collaboration within pelvic health physiotherapy. By engaging with peers, researchers and thought leaders from across Australia, clinicians are better equipped to provide the highest standard of evidence-based care.

It was a weekend full of learning, inspiration, connection and plenty of meaningful pelvic health conversation — and the Sydney Pelvic Clinic team is looking forward to bringing everything they’ve learned back into the clinic to continue supporting their patients and community.
